Saturday 4/23 Fishing Report

Went again today and all morning wind blew out of the north to north east and finally about 1:30 the sun broke thru, water temp was 63.7 everywhere I went, upper end of the lake was muddy but still caught nice fish everywhere I long lined. Stuck with same pattern, 5' to 8' of water long lining RR chartruese tubes loaded with crappie nibbles. Must have caught 80-90 crappies, Kept 23 today..can't count as I threw away 20 or more that were a shade under 10". When I cleaned the fish, most were males wearing their tuxes in fine fashion, and 3 of the females were spawned out. Other females were about ready to drop eggs. Lots of boats out today and everybody was catching fish.

Finally , today, 4/25, got the wife out to fish. Couldn't get her butt out of bed early, and finally launched at noon. Wind was blowing and gusting bad and boat control was wicked so I only used 2 rods with her using 3. Got into fish again and one time we had all 5 rods with fish on. Wife had a blast and in 4 hrs., we caught maybe 50 keeping 20 from 10 to 14". Majority of the keepers was males again but the females were all full of eggs. Windy but nice day of fishing.
