Walk in the room where she is running the vacuum cleaner or doing laundry, and say in your loudest voice "WOMAN, I'M GONNA BUY ME A BOAT".

That is not how I would do it, but feel free to use the above idea if you think it would work.

When we fished out of a 1542, I would put her in the front seat and run the terrova with the remote from the back and put her on some good fish. After a couple years of this, I said we need a new boat or you are gonna have to move to the back so I can catch some of these fish. We got a new boat and now sit side by side, and she still catches the most fish.

Forgiveness easier to get than permission.

Just like removing a band aide.....just rip it off. Don't beat around the bush.

Take her fishing with you. When the opportunity rises, move suddenly and dunk her in. Panic and start the boat and drive off. Go pick up new boat and return to pick up wife. Plead temporary insanity. But I am trying the safer for grandkids and dog approach. Bouf got her convinced.

Promise to sell everything you own that is not about fishing and to forgo birthdays, Father's day, Christmas, etc for the rest of your life. Worked for me.

It also helps to have a wife who is your best fishing buddy. Luckily I do.

If you figure it out let me know, im working on a kayak and shes no on board yet.

Forgiveness is easier to get, but life could still be miserable for a while.

Find a buddy who has a motorcycle - the louder the better. Invite him/her over while the wife is at home. Tell her to come out and see the bike. Admire the bike, with it running of course. Then tell her you have decided to get a motorcycle like that. When she calms down and stops screaming tell her "You're right, I guess I'll just get a new boat instead."

Just tell her, look, it's my way or the hi way. Works every time.
    Tell'em I'll be there.
