Default Led strip lighting how too install

We washed boat with purple power then wiped down applied area with alcohol. The strips are equipped with a 3 m tape strip. They can run off 12-40 volts. I'm running mine off my 24 volt to batteries so I don't kill my cranking battery . Name: image.jpg

I've done several like that and found the adhesive on the strips will not adhere well to some surfaces. I started taking Goop Marine Sealant and putting a very thin bead on the entire backing as I was pulling the paper off then taping it with painter's masking tape every couple of feet till the Goop set up.
