Default Crappie are biting pretty good on LOZ

Went out after work on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Managed to catch a limit every day between 4 and 6 pm. Never fished any docks, just found where a log was laying in the water off the bank. The wind made it challenging but they were holding really close to the logs. Out of the 45 total fish, only 5 or so had eggs in them. If the weather holds out and no major cold fronts come through I would say the weekend of April 15th and several days after that will be on fire!!!! Good luck, I gotta go to Oklahoma that weekend

Thanks for the great report. I plan on bringing my 86 year old Dad down that weekend - he loves to crappie fish. Would you mind sharing what part of the lake you fished? I'm seeing various success stories based on what part of the lake people are fishing. Glad you got into them.

Went Tuesday after work for a few hours and did well around the 2mm. Nothing on the banks but 8-12 fow over brush was the ticket. Thought they were all females they were so fat but when cleaned only one female all the others were males stuffed with shad. water temp was 54. Wont be long
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Great news sounds like the males are heading up, and girls wont be far behind
