I use the mini toothpicks as a strike indicator when fly fishing with scuds and nymphs.
They are foam (and break easily).
Does anyone use comal toothpick floats if so are they made from cork or foam?

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
Yep they are foam.
After researching this float I find that it will meet my needs and will purchase me some. I will use them for bream fishing.
I like the lil Comal 3/4" pear floats for bream. With a 1/32oz head they just barely float. With 1/48 they still have very little resistance.
Went flyfishing this winter for Trout, I bought many so I can use them for Gils and Crappie this year, I think they will work well with light weight jig heads and number 10 and 12 hooks
i use the pencil version in 3 packs with the long shaft and short shaft VERY frequently ....
they are super cheap and when i know i stand to lose lots of floats ....
and have no way to get them back.... aka banking it ....they are the perfect float
i have changed over a bunch of bank anglers over the years from the other types of floats
40 cents maybe each and a 20 cent jig is all you lose if "something" breaks your line ...
they are foam and plastic btw ....

Try using a snap swivel above a mono leader. I use this constantly and never use a float as the breakage in below the snap swivel. Good floats are expensive
