Check EBay - there are many good inexpensive reels available - many directly from China.
I'm just getting into spider rigging and have acquired a dozen or more rods needing reels. I'm looking for a good cheap spinning reel (under $20 ea) as I need to buy several of them. I don't need real high quality reels, but I dont want them to feel like cheap plastic reels either. Any suggestions?

My Spider Rigging buddy uses Shimano IX 1000 reels (rear drag & "Quickfire" trigger release) ... you can get them through Wal-Mart for around $15 or less. The FX1000 series is front drag & manual bail ... runs around $18
Okuma makes a couple that would fit your budget also : "Nemesis" @ around $24 & the "ROX" @ around $20 ... and any of these reels can be ordered for free store pickup at Wal-Mart (as I wouldn't expect them to have a dozen or more in stock).
Keep your receipts & if you try them & don't like them ... Wal-Mart will take them back.
Just a suggestion, as I have no personal experience with any of these reels.

Monks crappie has the shimano 1000 and 2000 for 12.95 Google little reels
I bought several of the $6.99 closeout reels from Grizzly Jig over a year ago, and they are still going strong.
Thanks for all the input. I had seen the cheap ones from grizzly and was wondering if they would hold up. I don't get to fish that much but just don't want to buy junk.
Also, Walmart has one (Outdoor Angler I think) for $5-$6 that has a rear drag. I bought one and it seems to be pretty good. I use these cheap reels primarily for line holders. For cast and retrieve I certainly use a better reel.

I'm looking for a line holder not a casting reel so those mentioned sound about like what I need. Thanks
