    Default Big Baits

Hi Friends, don't let anyone tell you that you're using too big of a jig for these Kansas Crappie. This came out of a 14" crappie, and it had two this size in it's gut. I believe they were drum but I could be wrong.

Im still stuck on small baits but I am sure I fish different than most. 1/16th doubled with 1.5 to 2" grubs/tubes

I catch more crappie on 4-5 inch jerkbaits fishing for bass each spring than about anything else. Second would be a 3" power minnow on a 3/32oz jighead. I don't eat them, so I'd rather catch big ones.

We used to fish in a farm pond that you would catch crappie on a Texas rigged 8" rubber worm.

Caught several at wolf creek throwing a rattle trap for white bass.

I love big baits. I normally use a 3 1/2" stinger shad type bait that I make when I'm single pole fishing or even spider rigging. If they're eating 3-4" shad or bigger, they'll try to eat that bait. Name: fry2.jpg
