Nice
went out about 2 hours in the early morning before church yesterday . the fish were right in the same location but i would suppose since the lake was like glass they were not in the exact same pattern . i didnt find them parked on the bank , instead they were holding out deeper in around 8 to 12 foot of water . i still fished under a fixed pencil float only about 30 inches under it . they didnt want much action on the jig either ...sitting still or just the ever slightest twitch made it happen . I hooked several in the 2 pound range but they were a bit tough on the light tackle . I am thinking the new Mr. Crappie slab shaker reel has a double meaning on that little B an M ultralite duck commander rod . there were several fish that shook me more than i shook them .....
one came unbuttoned on top that was very nice , one broke me off after quite a tussle and one came to me after it tore the water plum up .
ALL the larger fish were released as thats the management plan we enacted a year er so ago to improve the fish size and quality in there . I kept mostly male fish as they seem to rule the roost in there . Before we started our management plan average fish size was about 5 to 7 inches and they were rather skinny . This years fish there seems to much more meaty fish and most are around 10 plus inches .sure was nice morning to go play with the fish ....till my next adventure
hope yawl enjoy the read and pictures ...
