    Looking for the best bobber stopper to measure amount of line out.

    I prefer the string stops myself. They go through rod guides quite well. The rubber ones don't last long enough and the dog bone type hang on the guides too much for my liking. But a lot of it has to do with personal preference. They are all reasonably cheap. Buy a pack of each and give 'em a try.

    String type for me. Can't get the rubber ones to stay put on 6 lb mono.

    There may be sold under different brands but I've seem them sold in an Eagle Claw package.

    I believe the pic that Ship posted is from the Cabela's website, showing Beau Mac Bobber Stop Eggs. Cabela's version does not include the beads.

    And yes, there are many brands, including Eagle Claw, that are of similar shape .... plus those that are not "egg" shaped, but are more cylinder shaped (sometimes referred to as weight & bobber stops).

    I agree with shipahoy and Livemusic. I use 6lb line. IMHY easiest/quickest stopper to use.

    The string ones are smoother but I can't keep them in place so I use the plastic ones that Ship uses, with or without the bead. BPS and Cabelas carries them prolly Academy too.
