Here is a picture of some 'plumbing' I did to try to get crappie to come around and stay around our dock! This is a picture of a picture I took in 2001 (did not have a digital camera then). It was a lot of work but we did seem to have better luck after I put this in the water (about 15 feet deep) We are on a pretty steep slope in places and I wanted it to stay put with all of the big boat traffic we get. I filled some of the pipe with a real thin concrete mix but ended up tying 1 or 2 cinder blocks to the bottom to make sure it stayed there.
I have since placed a lot of buckets with concrete/PVC/branches, etc. I have some good ideas similar to what I have seen by the great posters here on this board. After the weather warms a bit will try some of them out!
the trick to catch that finnicky speck....
gently set the hook just before the peck
My son has a house boat at dock with deep water
They use a lot of old lawn chairs tied together--works good--all they do is cut the webbing out and tie them to blocks
