this weeks crappie report ..... 2 / 19 / 16

we have not found the fish set up to spawn just yet . the fish are packed with bright yellow eggs though and most of the fish are still in a winter program on whatever water body . i have hit 5 different spots and am having trouble finding larger fish .water temps are in the high 50 range . fish are biting REALLY hard in most spots . i have hit them late at night ,early in the morning , midday and at lunchtime with a late afternoon thrown in for good measure .
my buds hammered the fire out of them east of DFW wed. in the afternoon with a double limit (50) suspended at 15 foot down under bait in 25 feet of water . natural colors seem to be the ticket at most spots .(blue feather jigs from Pepop on the east program) we will look for some shallow fish this weekend is my hopes . other sunfish and the crappie are starting to get some color in some spots as well .
