What are the Federal Bats Regulations? Can't take out trees in case the bats need them as habitat?
Volunteers needed to assist with the 5th Annual Smithville FISH Days (Friends Involved with Smithville Habitat). F.I.S.H Day will take place on March 24th, 2016. We will focus this year’s efforts up the Little Platte Arm near Mecca at Access 7. Access 7 is located in Clinton Co and is the circle drive located at the end of McColloch Rd. FISH Days is a little earlier this year In an effort to get this pulled off before the Federal Bats Regulations shut us down. We were also forced to host FISH Day during the week this year due to the habitat barge availability and Easter. During FISH days there will be a need for help running 4 habitat barges, pushing trees off of barges, skid steer, pulling trees to loading zones etc. Bring a pair of gloves and a strong back! Last year we were able to put in over 100 brushpiles in 1 day! Please contact me and let me know if you are interested in helping out. Thank you, Eric Dennis - Fisheries Management Biologist Smithville Lake

Good guess for a cheesehead! From my limited understanding, they don't want trees near possible hibernation areas to be disturbed after a certain date. There is a disease affecting bats and this is an effort to help their recruitment.
Gotta work that day, maybe next year.
going to try to make this one !!!
May all your live wells be full.Dave
If I'm available that day, I'm there. Love helping with this even though I don't fish Smithville anymore.
I will try and make it this year.
