Default Nick names for BIG crappie .....

i love to hear nick names for crappie .....you know ..."slab" "slob" "pig" "hog" in my case "whale" ....
but any rate i went "slab"/ "hog" / "pig" / "whale" huntin yesterday afternoon after my stepdads funeral ...
the funeral made me quite sad an i really needed to get my mind of the sad part so off i went ...
gps said i execceded the speed limit a few times as i went kinda fast west of town in anticipation of the "hog" hunt ...
because you see in the end i had the double agenda ...4 leggers and no leggers .....
anyway nothing of great importance took place ....the 4 leggers and no leggers eluded me once again
but a bunch of small crappie hammered the you know out of a blue and chart jig though .....
so i suppose it was better then sitting around and being sad ....
and OH MY what a beautiful afternoon it was ...
i did at least get to hear some piggies squealing off in the distance
and saw a ton of deer ....
and a few turtles a well ....but thats another story ......
    ....then home i went ......
unpacked my "hog" rifle and put her back in the safe ,grabbed me a beer and a slice of pizza
and chilled out planning my next adventure in my mind ....
hope yawl have a great day TGIF
p.s. the lil crappie fish wanted it out there about 4 foot under a float in about 8 foot of water

sorry for your loss bud... but congrats on the fish. My dad and uncle will usually refer to a goodern as ol' rube. For some reason I always laugh hearing that.

My late Grampa was a Crappie angler, and is responsible for my love of the fish (catching & eating) ... and used to occasionally refer to them as "Newlights". It took me awhile to associate that nickname with the "Croppie" we would fish for
