I have seen small boats doing it but alot depends on several things . How big you and partner are , weight and width of boat, and how comfortable you want to be . I have an Excel 18' 60'' and it has more verticle sides that many boats . It is built wider in front , built heavy too . Mine was built with 3 pedstal bases in front for one or two seats. It is very stable and plenty of room for doubles . Some guys running double seats in small boats are asking for trouble.

I have a double pedastal seat set up on my 1546. Its definitely tight but we make it work. I usually dont run more than 6 poles at a time though.

Had a 17' tracker pro crappie once. I took out the bait well on the front deck and mounted two seats side by side. I had 56" total floor width where the pedestals were mounted. It worked fine.

As long as you have 30" between the two pedestals you will have the option of turning to the inside to go to the back in most cases.

I have a double seat rig, fished out of a 1648...It can be done, but it doesn't leave much room. Wear your life jacket.
