A child's smile that big with her holding the fish on her lap is priceless. Memories that will last a lifetime. Life is good!

I was thinking about you. I was at LOZ and there were shad ball all over the place. We hooked one and it was only about 3 inches long

We appreciate the kind words, kat is sure coming around as a fisher girl. What's amazing to me is she actually wants to go again today. We also have a friends son in the boat today so hopefully the fish are feeling like suicide and they both catch some nice fish for dinner.

You don't want that slimey stinking net full of shad flopping around in your nice boat, mark. I wish there was a lake a little closer to catch some bait, the river shad are getting tough to find. Too bad there isn't a big lake on the meramec! This weekend a friend of mine was down at LOZ and he netted a crapload of shad and brought me 2 gallon zip locks full, so I'm good for a little while. Another month and the skipjack a and moon eyes will be active so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Today sure was windy on the stretch of river we picked, but it wasn't a total bust. We talked 2 nice blues into giving up but that's all. "Lucky" lane got to reel in both, a 9 and a 6 lber. Good times on the water. Bbq'd a few deer brats and had blast!

Do you ever use the Asian Carp? I am guessing you prefer shad and the such...any particular reason?
