    Good info.

Any chance it is a conspiracy by bass fishermen to keep us "Perch Jerkers" from keeping bass we catch?

LOL I had that same thought.

I always thought the big catfish retained more of the nasty stuff than other kinds of game fish......We had to stop eating them from the rivers in our area about 20 years ago.

We have had the same warnings for years on several Arkansas lakes . Nimrod has a Mercury warning on the larger Bass . Funny we were told not to worry about drinking water which was pulled from the lake . It only affected Bass but what about all the other large predatory fish ? I would think Flathead Catfish would be worse than Bass ? But what do I know . They say it comes from the air or natural occurring ground sources . The Mercury is converted by micro organisms into Methel-Mercury which concentrates as it moves up the food chain . I read where yo need to limit consumption of Bass over 15'' . Pregnant Women and children should not eat any .
I always joke about eating fish for well over 40 years here and has not hurt me . Old Game Warden here used to Bass fish and trotline all the time .He ate lots of big Bass and Catfish. I told everyone it finally got him eating all that mercury tainted fish . Just took him out in his prime he was only in his 80's and fished right up to nearly the end of his life .
