Starting build today. Will post pics of my process for condo building

Going to build 12, 3-5 foot tall. Placing them in an area that starts shallow at the bank of course, stays about 3', drops to around 7' and gradually works out to about 12' then dropping off to 20-25'...placing 4 at the ledge edge of 12'/13' where it drops to 25'. 4 about 30-40 feet from there in 9-7 foot of water and 4 about 30-40 feet from those in 5 foot of water. All going in a private lake.

Using KrappyCrazy's 18 QT dishpans, loading them full of cement, approx 1/2 of an 80 pound bag (each weighs about 40 pounds), and each top gets 9 pvc pieces.

PREP LIST

12 18qt dishpans
108 pvc pieces, all size dia, 3 to 5 feet tall-for this particular build (9 per dishpan)
8 80 pounds sacks cement (should be enough to fill each pan over 3/4 full)
1 cement mixing pan, etc. (I use old metal Wheel Barrel)
1 hoe (I use this to mix the cement. Very easy as all you do is "cut" the dry into the wet)
1 shovel (to use only to move mixed cement to pan or I just dump it on using WB)

That really is a genius idea about using the "molds" to build condos over and over. How many molds do you use in one go around?

All credit due to KrappieKrazy for the dishpans...Got it going...The cement didn't make the full 12. Got 10 out of 6 bags. Was gonna take some step by step pics for all to see, but it was too cold and windy. I know now why I like to build these on a hot summer night!!! The first pic is of 100 pieces of pvc, all diameter. Important to notice how they are all going to fit once the gate is closed. This way I know they are ALL under a certain length. The second is of the end product and the third pic is of the cement mixer.

LIke I said Joey, it was windy and cold...cement dust blowing all over the place. I made it as easy as possible by using the tailgate and just lettin the cement run into the WB, but it was to cold and we just did it as fast as we could.

Good looking beds there Sac! I just picked up a couple 18 qt. dishpans the other day. I think I will go get several more. I really like how your's have plenty of space inbetween the PVC even near the bottom.

All the ones that I have made with short 3 gallon buckets were still too crowded at the middle down to the base. I made mine 5 feet tall but I used 12 pieces per bucket. Now after seeing yours I realize that that was too many.
