So, What's In Your Wallet...I Mean Tackle Box
I had a post like this a couple years ago asking folks to open up their tackle box to share what they use when they fish, and we had a pretty good response. There were a lot of good variety of tackle shown and techniques shared. And some of those lures and techniques, I know I still use today.
So Boys and Girls it's time once again to lift up those "proverbial skirts" and show the world - or maybe just us on CDC - what you have.
Well here are my bag of tricks. On the right is what I used last year when I started to spider rigging is spring before the spawn. I switched from tube jigs to 2" solid body jigs. On the line I will have two 1/16 oz heads and 3/4 oz sinker.
During the spawn I like a 2" bobber, single 1/16 oz head, and a 2" solid body tube jig.
For the rest of the year dipping trees, bridge pillars, and fishing brush piles I will use the setup on the left. One 1/8 oz head and a 3 1/2" solid body Trimble Creepy Crawly Crappie Catcher from Dave (Got Crappie). I only have one color displayed since I used the others up, so I've got to talk to Dave about more. But, the colors I like are the same ones on the left. If the fish are finicky I'll use the same jig head, but switch to a 2" solid body tube jig. I'll also use some chroma Crappie Nibbles or rub the jig in some Smelly Jelly.
Finally, during the summer if I don't feel like chasing the crappie down, I drag some crank baits on the main lake points or at the dam. All the cranks work good except for the gold and black. It's kinda fun to see what hits the line, crappie, walleye, drum, white bass...you never know.
Lets hear from the rest of you on your bag of tricks... Snap a pic of your tackle box, tell us about your favorite lures, techniques, and when you use them.
