    Default Crappie in weed lines

I fish a lake that has very little structure in the deeper water. Every brush pile is in between 1-10 ft of water. However I have found a weed line that's fairly large that seems to be holding a lot of fish, it's about 20ft deep. The water temp is about 43 degrees. Anyone have any luck finding crappie in weed lines like this or in shallower structure in the winter

They love it, weed lines are a great draw. Run your jigs down and wait for the bite. Fish very slow in 43 degree water.

Thanks guys. I'm new to winter fishing. You always here people talk about stumps and trees but I haven't really heard a lot about weed beds. I'll be sure to hit that spot now.

One of my old time fishing buddies (now departed) took a potato rake and put a long (10ft) aluminum pipe handle in it. He would reach into a weed bed and clear out a spot about 3 or 4 ft diameter and wait a few minutes for it to settle down, then drop a jig or minnow in it. Turns out the crappie are all in the weeds, not just along the edges.

Less movement is what I used in cold water. Deadstick we called it.
