Rickie
I been pecking at it since Santa left. Making progress. Figuring "how to" takes time. What I am doing is making Rickie's da ducer apparatus auto deploy and auto stow with a push of a button. I got inspired after I purchased an Ulterra.
Pictures are how things are coming along. You can see the roller switches which signal the control circuit when the da ducer is deployed or stowed. You can see the cable drum/motor and the button switch. This top switch tells the control circuit when the da ducer is completely extended (in the water). There is another similar switch on the bottom which tells the control circuit when the transducer is fully retracted.
The power control cord is a CB mike cord. The CB cords are durable and I need to coil, uncoil when stowing and deploying da ducer.
This is a simple design.Worst part is getting the mechanics right.
Santa left me a new blade runner which has replaced my hacksaw. Drilling and tapping is all by eyeball. I don't have a drill press here.
Here are a few pics so to look at. Good winter project.
