Yearly Meeting

The Coosa River Crappie Club will hold its yearly meeting to set tournament dates for this year on Feb. 6th at 11:30 AM at the H Dean Buttram Senior Citizen's Center located at 301 H. Dean Buttram Sr. Avenue, Centre Al. 35960. We will have a covered dish dinner which is worth the trip by itself. We will give out awards for last season's winners. We will also set tournament dates and directors for each tournament in this new year. We will also discuss any rule changes or other business. Everyone is welcome to come out and be a part of a great bunch of local folks who enjoy crappie fishing. We have men, women and children who are members and fish our tournaments. We have a low, $15.00 per person membership fee and low, $50.00 per tournament entry fee. We presently fish Weiss, Neely Henry and Logan Martin Lakes. We fish each lake once in the spring and again once in the fall. We then hold a "classic" after the last fall tournament. We need new members to be able to get our boat numbers up for our tournaments. Please come if you are interested in trying crappie tournaments or just want to see what we are about. The Coosa River Crappie Club had a very successful 2016 Opening Club Meeting and Membership Drive today. The food was delicious as always and no one went away hungry. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this a successful event. We signed 22 members for the 2016 season but are looking for more folks to come join us for a good time with fishing and fellowship for the upcoming season. We have a simple format with three tournaments in the early Spring and three tournaments in the late Fall as well as an end of the year Classic so that both water and air temps are optimum. New this year we will have a Wild Card Tournament on Guntersville w/o a points schedule. Dates are as follows:

In an effort to increase membership, we will be offering a special no membership required option for folks who would like to come and fish in any of our regular season tournaments. The format will be that any one or two man team can come and fish in a regular season tournament ($50.00 Entry fee per boat applies) and we will waive the $20.00 membership fee. Should the team place in the money we ask that that team pay membership dues at that time. If the team doesn't place in the money, the only thing lost is the entry fee. The gain is the opportunity to come and fish with our club and get to know our members and see what a good time we have and enjoy some friendly competition.
