What is this?

My dad gave me this pole, it is solid metal, it has 2 metal eyelets ,they are welded on the rod. The reel seat has some lime green paint left on it,I have an old shakespear reel with the same color?
Is this something old or a ice fishing rod? It's total lenght is 43 in.

It's an old rod for a levelwind baitcaster reel. I have some put away that i collected from my old buddies. Take care of it. It may be valuable. If you dont want it i'll give you $5 for it.:D

I have not seen one of those since I was a kid. They were what we fished with before fibreglass came out in the early 50's. The only reels were baitcasters so I don't think you will find one for spinning reels. That is a genuine antiques. Guess that means that I'm a antique too.

Pulled this from my collection of old reels. Still has the original line on it too. Its a Langley reelcast model # 500.

I've got one of those rods with an old Shakespear reel on it.
Came from the first licensed fishing guide on Lake Dallas (now Lewisville), Texas.

I had one of those old steel rods years ago. Never fished with it but now I wish I would have kept it. Also wish I would have kept my old split bamboo flyrod, and Granpa's old tacklebox full of old lures. Who knew? I thought I'd be dead by now dangit!
