Crappie trip on Lake Fork 12-18-15

Fished with two clients from the Dallas area yesterday. The bite was slow due to the flood gates being open from all the rain we had last weekend. My experience on Lake Fork is that when the gates are open the bite is slow not only for crappie but bass as well. But we did manage to catch a mess of crappie for them to take home. We were fishing in 33-36 feet of water using minnows and jigs. Best color of jig was electric chicken. The best bite was one crank off the bottom. My clients really liked fishing out of my new 22 ft bay boat. So I can take bigger groups out next year. Will be able to handle 5 adults and myself. Big change from my bass boat!!
