    Default Stingray's Do they work?

Hey do the stingray stableizers work like they say they do?

Out of these three which would be best i am thinking of getting the 120 dollar one.

I put a Dolphine brand (dont think thats spelled right) on my old 135 rude pushing an 18' cruiser. I think it made a differance getting the boat to plane but might have slowed it down a couple mph. I had spun up a stump or something before and broke half of the factory fin off the foot. The new stabilizer fit over the broken spot and worked real well.

This is the one I'm using now. It has less drag because it's thinner and it made a difference in my ride.

I had one on an old BMC and it helped me get on plane faster. If your pitch is right on the prop you should not need it.
    Thank You,

i have one that my boat shop made for my 90 horse etec jet... it bolted on above the pump housing to the lower unit. kinda made a flange to the factory shape.. they should pattent(spelling) this.. they make it out of 1/4" diamond plate and it is flat with a small rake at the end. will post pics if i can remember to take them when i am at the cabin.. it made my 18x56 blazer ss aluminum boat plane from stock---about 10-12 seconds for full speed plane to about 4-5 seconds full speed plane.. the boat just shoots out of the water and comes down with a POP and your gone. it is great

I have one on a 50 yamaha and it works great. Less strain to get on a plane and can stay on plane at lower RPM. Didn't slow the boat down at all did help on fuel economy though. 5o yamaha is on a 14' bomber scout bass boat set up for flat line trolling or tightlining. Boat runs about 35 with me and falcon smitty in it (that's over 500#s of lard for you people that don't know me or Smitty) and gets up on top in a hurry. All I can say for sure is that it works for me on my boat.

Go here and do a search on Smart Tabs. http://forums.iboats.com/
BPS carries them too. You will get a lot of hits but apparently they are far superior to any of the doel fin type.

The only problem I"ve had is debris[leaves, ect.] sticking under the hydrofoil. Only happened at slower speeds.
