    Smile the biggest catch

In the mid-60's my father me and my uncle used to do a lot of troutlining on bundicks creek in beauregard parish. We would set lines in the creek usually from treelimb to treelimb using live brime, caught some nice catfish.
One night around midnight we were coming around a bend in the creek when my dad in the front of the boat told uncle earl to kill the motor. As we drifted around the bend I could see both ends of our line jerking, man were they jerking.I thought the limbs would break they were jerking so hard.
My dad says we got a good one earl get the gaff.Just then in the middle of the creek in the middle of the night a huge gusher of water erupted about 10 feet from our boat spraying all of us.
Now at this point things definatly picked up,lets just say if there was a contest for backwards paddleing my dad and uncle would have taken 1st place in the 12 ft. division that night.
My dad and uncle both have on those old lamps like coal miners use and with all the commotion my uncles goes out,now to a barefoot 12 year old without a light to start with sitting in the bottom of the boat it felt like things were getting a little out of hand.
My dad looks at both of us and says"there ain't no whales in bundicks creek" without much conviction as far as i'm concerned.
No sooner has he said this than another burst of creek water comes up in the middle of the creek and down on us.
My uncle got his light back on and both of them shine in the middle of the creek.Again a burst of water only this time we see a large hairy snout. We had accidentally snagged a big woods hog trying to swim the creek.
Well needless to say my escorts calmed down sufficiant to cut the line off the limb on our side of the creek.
Well when mr.almost drown, wild as the wind, and half scared to death hog made it to the oppisite bank all he had on his mind was to get as far away from that creek and us so when he hit the end of that troutline he was running wide open.My dad hollered look out and we all ducked .........Now I don't know how many of you readers have ever heard a richochet bullet but the only thing I personally have ever heard that sounds scarier is the sound that night of about 30 hooks sinkers and brime coming back at me.
Well we all come out of it a little worst for wear but otherwise unhurt.
    THE BIGGEST CATCH!!!!!

I've heard of catching beavers, muskrats, and even the occasional bird. But a pig...? No one believed that story at first, did they?
