    I find it interesting he knows that the brush is made out of "wax myrtle" trees.

    He must have put them out himself!

    It is a popular tree for brush piles and you can bet he put them out. The guides at Santee Cooper have 100s of piles in deep and shallow water.

    Sounds good but adding a weight above jig verses using a heavier jig alone never makes sense to me . I use only hand held jig poles and feel bites instead of line watch .

    I have heard him say that he does use wax myrtle for some of his brush piles.

    folks trim the fire out of them trees here so i would think it is a good material for piles .
