we put a bunch in at Stockton lake, 5 in each spot
I have a bunch of 5 gallon buckets I'm thinking about using to make stake beds. How many should I sink in one spot? I assume I'd want 3 or 4 close together? Any suggestions?
Thanks

I try to do 3-4 for jigging over. You can also drop one of each side of the boat at the same time then move forward 10 ft and do it again several times. This will make a straight line of beds that can be rigged over and rods/baits will be over both buckets as you follow your line of beds.

Speck, what are you using for stakes in those buckets?
I'm going to be coming in to some deck spindles, most of which are only 36" or something, but some which are 6+ feet, and was thinking of a way to make stake beds out of 'em.
I'd like to use wooden survey stakes or tomato stakes. I'd really like to find an old tobacco barn that has a bunch of old oak tobacco stakes but those are very rare around here anymore.
May have to use pvc and rough it up with some sand paper to make algae grow on it better.

Speck I made a bunch of them and from trial and error they will fall over. So I took pvc and put two pieces through the bottom of the buckets in an X pattern. They have been standing now for 3 years and withstood current and waves. Just FYI.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
Helped Weiss Lake Improvement Assoc. build and set out 200 used 12" concrete blocks filled w/concrete 4-6 4ft piecies of bamboo set 8 on each location,I promise you they aint moving heavy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
