I finally crossed over. I've been towing my boat with a car for years but no more. Found some great year end deals and took the plunge. I this think is a monster. Unbelievably big from what I'm used to. Included a fog horn! lol

And looks easy enough to work on, tons of rook in that engine compartment. I think a small family could live in there and I'd never notice!

The decals are not applied yet, I'm just playing with ideas using Photoshop. Well not exactly Photoshop, but a similar tool called Fireworks.

Got a brake controller on it? No worries about it pulling a big trailer.

Yep, it does. all set to do the move - gonna have to haul a fuel truck behind it though, not gonna get used to that fuel (not) economy anytime soon.

Nice! Must be a gas burner, if there is room in engine compartment. My diesel, you could pour water on the motor and nothing would hit the ground!

Where did you buy it at. I used to work at the Chevy/Olds dealer. But that was 27 years ago. If you bought a Chevy they are the best. I have a 97 with 302 hundred thousand miles, with everything original. You did good.

Yeah, looked at those too. Did not have the steep discounts like they had on the Ford. I considered a RAM too, but the salesman blew it when he tried switching trucks on me. Tried to charge me more and switch me to a year older truck. Yeah right, that was not gonna fly. Then they try to scrape you off the ceiling, well that was not gonna fly either, instead I flew.. I think everyone in the dealership heard me when I explained to the manager what the problem was. I sold BMW's for 5 years, I know their games. Found a great Ford dealer, and salesman in Mt. Dora, FL. PM me if you want specifics.

having driven a few of them I can tell you that they're really nice trucks, but the super duty diesel 6. whatever, I forget
what, the fuel mileage is unreal.

You will need to take your boat and trailer to a LARGE parking lot and PRACTICE backing the trailer up straight. It is way far different from using the car.
Side mirrors help, but the rear view mirror is useless.

See you at one of the local ramps soon.:fish

You might need that truck to haul banana plants. :Rofl:Rofl .

Yes I might. I was tied up dealing with dealers all week. You know how that can be. But I should make to to Harney around noonish to see all the boats come in. We can talk then about scheduling the Banana boat run.

I like that D.

You'll have an adjustment period but you'll like it fine. Turning radius is very different from even my truck, and that's something to remember. Good luck and many happy fishing trips with it. Hope to see you Saturday at the festivities.

I'm liking the Behemoth so far. Almost 400 hp and over 400 ft/lb torque. Last of the steel muscle cars right here. Reminds me of my yout! They might still offer big v8's but next year they are going aluminum bodies and turbos (yuck). That stuff is not bad, but as I work on my own stuff I'd rather have simple and not super complicated efficiency. That coming from a BMW mechanic, right! But I'm an old BMW mechanic. I don't want to touch the new stuff either. lol

lowe175
11-06-2015, 11:10 AM
My ford has the turbos no trouble so for just use the right oil and you would be fine. The aluminum body is going to be pricy to fix but all cars will probably go that route in the future
