    Default Up the ole creek without a paddle .....


    just couldn't bring myself to paddle the lil john boat around today , killed the trailer on the larger specimen last night .
    so what do ya do ? if ya wants to be Ketchn that is ....LOL ..
    and the wind is whippin outside ,,,,I say ya go up the local creek .....
    stand carefully on a few logs .....
    drop the jig in them jammups and rip them lips on your lunch break .....

    thanks yawl ....there were some sunfish species up under that there log jam for sure
    not any really large fish but enough for a meal if one was inclined to keep them
    4 sunfish that were edible size and 3 crappie that were legal ....managed about 20 fish total in 30 minutes er so
    most was small black crappie as it seems to be up in there a lot of the time
    took me a bit to figure it out though ...the typical pattern there in the fall/winter is about 18 inches deep under a float
    but with all the rain we got the creek is way up and silly me tried for half my break to ketch some with a float
    they wasn't having none of that business for sure ...never even got a peck ....
    and on a good day they slam float presentations like the spawn up in there
    might try to get my john boat in there soon .....
    I bet I could find a few more better ones under them hard to reach spots
