Nice ones
I will pitch a jig at about any spot that has water in it if allowed . that said I am always looking for the next spot. today was one of those days at lunch break and I went to a spot I never tried . I have been suspicious of this location and finally decided to actually try it .Well to say the least ....WOW ....
I will get to the rest of the particulars later . the wind was whipping and made my presentation a bit to fast .
but it was an epic big fish smack down anyway .....
here are a couple photos ...went solo once again .....

I bet you go back. Nice
it is easy to get lost on a lunch break when the bite is like this for sure . I was pithing a favorite of mine in a 1/32 oz number tandem set up . the first baits I used are called the silver flash and the second bait I tried was a pearl ice . one was in a small fry size and the other in a stinger style bait . a thill pinch on at about 5 to 6 foot deep on hi viz 6 lb test I get from team catfish . I used an 8 foot bonehead rod with an okuma reel and am quite fond of this particular set up . I run the tandems rather close together at about 8 inches to a foot apart .
when I arrived at the spot the south wind was blowing rather hard at about 10 to 15 mph left to right and gusty. this makes a long cast a difficult thing to do with a fixed float and trying to hit a specific target area in between bridge columns that are not far apart . anyway fist pitch the float goes under for a fast half a second and I missed it . second cast went better as I was now rather alert to the presence of a fish in these conditions .next one sunk the float like it was serious and sure enough I had me a respectable crappie fish on my bottom jig . a few more misses in between the first and second fish and I was really getting my tune up on .lost 4 or 5 total for the stop and had a rather large crappie about half way back to me when it broke off my jigs .lost yet another that was large as well up on top about half way back to me as well .
didn't count the fish and didn't keep any but boy howdy doody I will return there soon I am sure .if I had me a lay down wind or a slight breeze I would have just hammered the living fire out of the fish .probably landed about 20 or so and some as you saw in the earlier photos were solid fish .
here are few more photos and for sure ....
like I always say .....
