    Default Fish finder help

I have a Hummingbird Helix 5 with GPS and DI. I feel like I am missing bottom structure. What is the best set up as far frequency and contrast and any advice to make it work better. OH and what in the world is switchfire? Thanks

*Beam Frequency (under the Sonar tab) to 200kHz/455kHz to get the narrow and wider sonar cones blended ...
*Imaging Frequency (under the Sonar tab) 455kHz for more coverage with less detail ...
*Imaging Frequency (under the Sonar tab) 800kHz for more detail with less coverage ...
*Switchfire Clear (under the Sonar tab) for water shallower than 10ft ...(and adjust Sensitivity up) ...
*Switchfire Max (under the Sonar tab) for water deeper than 10ft ... (and adjust Sensitivity down) ...
*Surface Clutter (under the Sonar tab) as high as you can stand the clutter on the screen ...
*Noise Filter (under the Sonar tab) Off ...unless there is defined crosstalk interference showing on display ...
*Max Depth (under the Sonar tab) to 10ft deeper than any water depth in your lake ...

*Chart Speed (in Xpress menu) match boat speed for DI imaging ...
*Chart Speed (in Xpress menu) Ultra for 2d views ...
*DI Sensitivity (in Xpress menu) adjust as a brightness control for DI image ...
*DI Contrast (in DI Enhance menu) higher for seeing fish ... Lower for seeing structure ...
*DI Sharpness (in DI Enhance menu) higher for seeing fish ... Lower for seeing structure ...

Remember that the 2d sonar cones are smaller in the HB DI units ... So the 2d will have less underwater coverage than the HB non-DI units ...
