    Default Bad Weather, Use Short Pole


    Well, the weather here has really messed up the lakes and it looks like I will not be guiding for a while unless I adjust to my environment. So, under these circumstance I believe the best thing to do is put up the long poles in lue of the short rods.

    When the water is fast approaching 15' or more above full pool and you're a diehard pole in hand jig angler, the best tool is a short rod with a short, heavy line:


    For those of you that are avid spider-riggers, this short rod, multi-pole system should produce for you:

    that is a good one, but here is my short rod. :D

    26" UL with 4# and a fine 14" slab. :D

    Notice that my 5 1/2' light action cherrywood was my back up.
    Didn't have any matches or lighter with me that day.

    Thats my kinda fishin cuz! if the game warden catches you just hand him a rod and ask him if hes going to fish or argue.

    Stick to the short pole morris, Ive seen your technique with a long one and you will have better odds of beating me or jer with your short one....lmao
