Board rules question

in an effort to comply totally with the rules here I am hoping to have a better understanding of them . from what I read and understand its ok to mention Crappie.com sponsors in my posts but not any other brands of products unless I am a paid member ?
please feel free to clarify if I am misinformed and or don't understand the rules totally . I don't want to upset anyone or rock the boat per say and I like the rules here . seems like a very friendly atmosphere and pleasant place to visit .
