Default New Battery Eliminator and some pics.

    This ain't no fake clock.

Couldn't find a D cell eliminator, so I am making my own. D cells are getting expensive and don't last long. I will have about 5 American Dollas invested in the eliminator. I coulda wired the circuit directly in the unit, but then I would have to wag a 12v battery around when we bank fish.

All the pvc carving is with my trusted dremel. Will finish up this prototype later.

Ima going fishing for a week or so. Billbob is coming for a little R n R. We both need it. Hard work runs a soul down. Need a recharge.

What is this gadget and how does it eliminate the battery?

Do you see a battery? I haven't finished yet. Each end of the pvc will have a small fender washer (and screw head) and wires attached to the washers via screw terminals. I haven't wired the 12v power adapter yet. The circuit is a variable dc/dc converter.

Plug into 12v, get out 1.5v @ 2A. The pump motor only requires 200ma max. This circuit can replace single or dual D battery installed in aerator pumps.

Remove circuit, plug in D cell. There are many ways to do this arrangement.

I did something similar years ago with a Frabill minnow bucket but no where near as fancy. After I found a better quality air pump I replaced the junk Frabill used then I ripped off a 12V adaptor from one of my granddaughters toys and wired it in. Just plug it in a 12v outlet and off you go. No more "D" cells to die in the middle of a trip.

    Default Looks like an IED!!!

I strongly recommend that you don't carry this around in public places... or ever try to tote this through airport security.

Cane Pole. When you get this all finished up, can you put a parts list out there and where you got em? I am very interested in this one.

    Great Idea!
