Got out twice this week on barren and did pretty good both trips. Seems they are right on brush or timber in 15 - 20' of water and ya need to knock the bark off the trees with the sinker in order to get bit. They seemed to want it eased up an down then stop, before they'd hit. Other times I wouldn't know they were on till I'd try to move the rod and they'd take off. Wouldn't touch a jig even when I tipped it with a minnow so I used the ole double minnow rig. Kept 17 Wednesday and 20 on Friday. The bite was best early. Water temps 75 at daybreak and 77 when I left around noon. Best part of both trips, the lack of lake lice.
Thanks for some great information on Barren, I may have to slide over that way this week. So thanks again.
