Stratos 21ss extreme

I'm looking at buying a 99 model 21ss extreme have any of you guys fished out of one. Looking for any advice on it. I've always fished out of a aluminum boat so really don't know much about the bass boats. Thanks for any advice.

As best I know the Extreme hulls come from the old Champion molds and are a comfortable dry ride. I also believe that between '98 and '01 they went to all composite construction so the transom should be better than the previous wooden versions. I'd love to upgrade to one of the ones I have seen on Nashville's Craigslist, super nice rig. I'm a Mercury fan and most I find have a Johnnyrude.

I don't want to start a big disagreement but what I'm leery of is the ficht fuel injection motors from that era. It was just before Bombardier took over and redesigned them. they weren't as dependable as they could have been and I don't care to rebuild on after just buying it. I'm sure that there are folks out there that have had stellar performance out of theirs but this is what the mechanics I have spoken to have told me. Good luck with it.

I have fished out of several Stratos Boats for many years as a pro-staffer. I am no longer a pro-staffer and will still say that the 21SS Extreme is a great boat. It is fast, handles well, and is a dry ride with a load of dry storage. I would be more worried about the engine on it than even thinking about the boat. By the way someone mentioned it is all fiberglass and they are correct. Good luck.
