    Wink Melvern August 24

Haildamage and myself tested the waters for famous Melvern slabs, bluebird skies, lite winds a real enjoyable day. Only the fish were hard to come by, Rick took a dozen nice crappie home for his family . All came off of brush piles, fish were scattered, just catch a few here and there. We were minnow fishing with k-rig and drop shot set up deep into the piles. Sorry no photos.

Had a super day on the water with Ron.
    Tough bite.
I think the weather being so nice was the problem.
Light breeze out of the NW and not a cloud to be seen.

Or maybe using my boat and wearing pink dress scared the crappie off...

There were some really nice fish we did catch.

    Thanks again Ron,
    Rick

Cedar Creek Valley has some big crappie in it too, I just think you have to go through a lot of little ones to get the bigger ones. I caught some 12-14 inchers while fishing for bass out there this spring on bladed jigs.
