you know, at the day's end im not sure why i even bothered to make the eyes to stick on my baits...everyone knows crappies wont bite when the bait is lookin at em.

Eyes make baits look good for a picture though. My personal crappie and walleye baits don't get eyes.

The eyes catch the attention of the fisherman. My personal jig heads have painted eyes too. The soft plastic attached to it does not. To me it seems as if four eyes would make the fish leery that something was going on. The jig is up and they go look for a two eyed minnow.
