Default Tripple "by pass" update Fishin813

    Sunday, August 2nd,

17 days after tripple by-pass heart surgery ( boy time flys when you in
    a different world)

Second time out of house to walk with a Walker. Walked once around block (19 min) included 1 stop to sit on Telepohone box.
Did not notice any real shortness of breath common prior to operation, just taking trash out.
    1,272 steps
    1231/69 blood pressure
    76 pulse reading
    98 oxygen intake
Able to pull on ozygen spit-o-meter
    1750 consistent....
Stopped using oxygenm, 2pts, 3 days ago
both day time and during night hooked
    into C-pak unit.
    Items of note:
First time in 6 days was able to get out
of bed, hold head up without extreme pain level in neck: Nurses attribute this
to when being operated on, they bent my
next-head down and tied it off to hold
movement- neck was wedged in this mannor for 6 - 8 hrs before realease- och, now it is getting even. Only way to
control pain was to lay flat - for a time,
ususally 1 - 3 hrs. No amount of pain killer, bio-freeze, ice packs seemed to help.... Was told to get "Salonpas" by
my mentor, Ken Hamilton, who has been
invalueable to me on this road to recovery- Ken had same operation 2 wks prior to mine. ( But also had a tremendouse set back -developing fulids around heart to which caused him to go into cardiac arrest 3times, they are still working on to correct. They will be
    instaing Pace-maker comming thursday)
Am still tired but nothing like 2 weeks ago, balance / control gets each day -
Still have pain in chest no particular non
hurting area. Still hurts to cough -50% less than 2 wks ago - not using heart pilllow as much. (Mucinex is another
life saver used - that really, really helps
get materials out of lungs and breathing
    better.)

To say the least this has been an interesting road to recovery vs what it
was suppose to have been during the
    dates of July 21st - July 27th with a
spinal operation turning out to be heart
    operation.
Once again, real thanks from heart to all for the phone
    calls, get well messages, company
comming by at at hosiptal & home.. get
well cards etc. Means a lot, and sure
wants a person to strive and get back in
    shape..

Will be on Home Health Care watchful eye
for another 8 days - than maybe will
get clearence to drive - sit in front seat -
and go to "Bass Pro Shop" 3 miles from
    house in Brandon yippee.............

I had always considered myself physically fit for my age (74) till past couple years,
then things started to unravel quicklys and in wrong direction.

Just something to think about.............now and into next week-month-year -decade

    Caught me by surprise..........

Good to hear Harold. Does all them meds make you dream about fishing? When you go to BPS leave your wallet at home.
    Wear your PFD!!!!!

    Harold,

It's a GOOD sign, seeing you post a bit more lately, wishing nothing but the "BEST" in your recovery.

Don't believe I have ever met a guy so willing to help others in need! I appreciate your friendship.

Won't be long before the "BIG O", will be calling out atcha! LOL
