how long will cane float?

Let me run this by you guys - I've found a place to get hunks of
concrete about 6" round and 10" or so long, free -
I had the idea of using scrap wire to attach some cane (two or three stalks)
to them and drop them, letting the air chambers in the cane float them
up vertical... How long do you think cane will stay floating like that
I've got to find something to use them for, they're free :D

It floats a long time ,I have some still upright put out 2 years . You might try this. Get old plastic bucket lids and drill several holes with a hole saw in a drill. I use one for drilling lock set holes in doors. Don't drill completely through. That will hold bamboo when pushed through to half way. Then wire butts together and it will fan out on tops. I wire on weights and sink it horizontally.:D For vetically placed bamboo we always concrete in buckets.:D
