Default Good Day on a Kayak

I went out on a kayak in a small Pennsylvania pond expecting to catch bass, but after no bass and seeing some Bluegill. I tied on a 1/32 Chartreuse Marabou jig and caught my PB White Crappie (15 inches). I then decided to go get my camera, the bite wasn't as good as before but I still caught some good sized gills and crappie.

The first pictured Gill was only about 7 inches but was easily 3/4 pound, not sure when the spawn up there is, but she looked pregnant. One of the Crappie was a female, but didn't look pregnant.

Good day. Shame you didn't get the picture of the big one. But you got the memory.

They were both 15 inches, however the black crappie seemed to weigh more.

Those small ponds will spoil ya! I grew up on a farm that had several ponds that were stocked with Bass and Catfish. One was full of 8-10 lb Bass. I chased them on big lakes for several years after that, and only caught one in the 8lb range.
