Default MG Xi5 45" TM shafy cit down?

Anyone know if the shaft on a MGXi5 can be cut down and if the wiring has quick connects on the head end? The shortest they have is a 45" shaft and I may need to shorten it for a 1650 jon boat. Just gettin my ducks in a row before ordering.

The extra lenght actually makes it easier to stow an deploy. I would leave it alone.

I'm wondering for just in case senario.I would do a test fit first before actually cutting it. Your suggestion is certainly food for thought though.
