now, i realize these are not on the level of the master himself....but this was easy and fast for me to try. i simply poured my smallest baits and then placed them in the mold for my larger minnows and shot transparent with 1 drop of silver and some green uv pigment. the bait in the center is fluorescent and phosphorescent, so they really pop. i like em. on several of the minnows, the smaller bait caused a distorted abdomen, but in a good way....it looks like a fish that just ate.this also cleared up a small denting issue i was having. AWESOME! thanks CTom!
introducing the "Glutton" Minnow!
p.s. if someone has come up with this idea already, then...re-introducing the "Glutton" Minnow!
these had the 1 1/4 stinger inside
these had the 1 inch minnow
1 inch minnow inside
2 1/4 inch minnows, top is "bluegill" with blue uv boost, bottom is transparent with an overdose of green uv pigment.
these are 1/64th oz/#10 jigs and tails. top is a 1 inch twister, middle is a 1 1/4 stinger tail, bottom is a 1 inch minnow. all my jigs are double vinyl painted and plastic pruf'd

good job I'm glad that you're enjoying making some plastic baits in experimenting with core shot.
and here is round 3, the final round for me today. very glad i joined this community, the wealth of knowledge here is astounding.
the pictures dont do these justice...from the side they are transparent with a -very- bright and visable line...from top or bottom....chartreuse.

Wow. Hold this guy down. Nice work there and I'm really happy you tried this technique. It's easy and it's pretty ranked different. Good job there!

Yes, he is doing a great job. We thank you and Snake River for introducing the technique of core shots to all of us. I agree with H2OHammer Fishing Tackle that there is a wealth of knowledge on crappie.com and the members freely share what they know. I personally have so many here on DIY Soft Plastics and the Jig Tying Forum to thank for sharing their tips and techniques with me. I have been using just the tail from my one inch stinger shad as a core shot in the belly cavity of my two inch minnow. Again, the minnow is transparent with 85% silver glitter to 5% blue, 5%red and 5%green fine glitter.
