Yes this works, the starch in the potato acts as a release agent and keeps food from sticking. It's the same as oiling a cake pan and then coating or dusting it with flour.

I told my wife about this and also said if it will work on a grill it should work on a skillet. She replied "what's a skillet?) Oh well.

Before I grill any food, I spray PAM cooking spray on my grate before I put it on the grill. Non-stick, works great!:twocents

Thanks for the grill sticking potato tip. I will have to try it. The microwave was the second worst invention ever for men. The first worst invention was the invention of can biscuits.:bash

Don't buy can biscuits anymore. Go to Walmart and buy you a box of Walmart brand Extra Fluffy Pancake Mix, sour cream and butter. Mix one cup of pancake mix, half cup of sour cream and 1/3 stick of butter. Put the sour cream and butter in your measuring cup and melt the butter and soften the sour cream before mixing. Heat oven to 450 degrees, spoon mix into a baking pan or cast iron skillet and bake until they begin to brown on top. Takes about 20 mins. from start to finish. When you start mixing, if you will keep stirring a little even after it's all mixed up you will create a ball of dough and the bowl will be almost as clean as it was before you started. Try this and you won't be buying can biscuits either.

Now spray it on your potato first. I may try potato in my wheel bearings?
