Nah, its not fake, just good photography. Probably a 2-2.5lb fish.
Edit: Nevermind. Upon further examination, it definitely looks doctored. Still a 2lb fish though.

If you look closely you can see the outline of his body thru the fins. Looks real to me.

Hardly "good photography". I dislike it when folks extend their arms out to get a fish photographed. Totally distorts the reality.

The elbows are bent...hence the arm is NOT extended. As Barnacle Bill said..check the shoulder outline through the dorsal fin. Looks good to me. I am sure many of us all would love to catch a crappie like that. I have twice here in Alabama. A size like that is not uncommon.

Looks real to me. Extending your arms is the best way to get a picture to be realistic. The camera on this one was zoomed in too far or a little close. It's a good picture. We shouldn't judge. I don't know the guy but fishing is about being proud of your catch. Not good for the sport or this site if we rain on his parade. Did he say the fish was bigger than what you think?
