Thanks,I use bran instead of oats, and keep a potato sliced in half for the bit of moisture they need.
This is something the beetles love: One part powder milk, One part Farina, and One part corn meal, mix this together sprinkle it on top your oats, the worms and beetles eat it up.

Right, you can use Bran, I use this chow mix to give them some variety. The mealworm and beetles like all kind of stuff like chicken liver , fruits like appies and carrots.I know they say just use a potatoes or carrots for moisture which I do, but I mist them every other day with a little tap water, and they seem to like this a lot.
Yup,they are about the easiest bait to raise,I would think more folks would give them a try, nothing like having live bait any time you need it.
I just give mine a lettuce leaf every few days....they get both their food and water from it.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I buy small carrots and the dang things eat the heck out of them. To many of them to pet and spoil

I raise em for the zoo I work for and at home. I've found that adding the dust and even a few chunks of feed from dog food, cat food, chicken feed, or whatever, (they love the monkey chow), works great. I leave a paper towel on top that I dampen every day for moisture.
