    Default Best Jig Container

I've been looking for the perfect jig carrying system. Anyone have a link or a photo of what they use for their Crappie box? I usually have to carry mine; so something more compact than a full size tackle box is what I'm looking for.

The best jig container that I have is a Black and Decker tool boox that you can pick up a Wal-Mart. It won't turn over, it doesn't leak, it won't break, and you can stand on it if you want to. It is black and it has two removeable see through small boxes on the lid. I keep my jig skirts in the package that they came in and put them in the bottom. You can put your heads in the small removeable trays on the lid.

A small tote used for cleaning supplies. It's open topped and has a handle. I keep a bag full of leadheads and a bag of tubes. There is room for extra batteries for the GPS. Also have room for knife, needlenose pliers, corks, marker bouys, and ect.
Tip the friend that molds my leadheads seals 25 per vacuum sealer bag. That way I have lots of extras if needed that are weather proof till opened.:D

I use a small collapsable cooler that zips closed, its waterproof and I put my tubes in ziplocs with the zipper inside(buy tubes in bulk so I need quart size). Also have a twelve compartment plano box inside with all the lead I will be using.

I use one of these and have for 20 yrs. What I do is put a chain link in the little hole on the handle and loop a leather strap through it large enough to go over my head and over my opposite shoulder so it hangs on my hip. I can wear it anywere and it always right there and handy while not getting in the way. I can wade and climb rocks with it on and it carries everything I need. When I need more tackle I just slip it in my caribou mountaineering day pack with whatever else I need and carry it on my back. Its a good system.

BPS has a bunch of affordable tackle systems as well.

If you want something a little more professional looking or with a bit more room try these.

I found this one with a bunch of nails, screws, and fasteners in it for $5 at our local membership discount store. I'm going to start packing my jigs in this and cut down on the clutter in the rowboat.

    I have a jig with a face like this!

It use to be that If you put the plastic tails in some of the boxes meant for tools, they would fuse to the boxes. I'm glad this no longer happens!

I use some of the ones that Grizz has posted

i use a couple of different "small" tackleboxes. My fave is this plano box w/ 4 removable plastic trays that hold most of my jigs/spares/plastics/tools/ etc.
The top is large enough to hold a two sided container, two spare spools and some spike it. This is my main slab box and if I want it more portable for hiking river shorelines I just put the trays into my camera fannypack and the other jazz in the bottom compartment of that snap it around myself and I'm off.
It's very versatile. I have another tray that's in my LMB box that I throw in there on days when I'm hitting new water and don't know what to expect. Hope this helps!
BTW the tacklebox is @ $12 at wallyworld.
