    Default Orlando Florida in February

I may be in the Orlando Florida area on February 17 - 21. Is there any good fishing in that area during that time? If so, what types of fishing? Any recommendations for locations? Any recommendations for guides?

I should have specified that the fishing question is not restricted to just crappie fishing but any kind of fishing.

Fishing is always hard but feb is one of the best times of the year in Florida.
If you just want to relax and wet some line I recommend
catfishing off a public dock at night
Fishing off the beach with cut bait (small sharks)
Renting a canoe at a park (rarely fished water with uneducated bass)
There is a fish management area somewhere in Orlando. It’s similar to a pay lake. The fish are stocked and fed with automatic feeders. Many people are disappointed when they come to Florida because its hard to find fish. These are the best ideas I can com

Just head to the St.Johns river and find some open water. That river pretty much has everything. I even caught a northern out of there believe it or not. I sure had a hard time believing it and I was holding it in my own hands. Good crappie, shellcrackers and largemouth. Just watch out for the manatees. Kinda depends how far you want to go to fish. From there you can go either way for some coastal fishing, or you could head over to stick marsh. One of the best bass lakes in florida and becoming one of the best crappie lakes as well. If you don't mind going north a bit the crappie fishing around DeLand is excellent in the winter and this guy has been guiding Lake woodruff forever and really knows his stuff. http://www.hpfishcamp.com/contact.htm Hit this place to when your there. Its right next to the fishcamp. http://www.stetson.edu/~pmay/woodruff/

There is a ton of fishing all around and water absolutely everywhere there so take your pick, and I'm sure there is some good fishing closer to Orlando than my suggestions.

Talkin about it makes me want to go back down there. Oh and give yourself a treat and head over to daytona beach on a sunday and hit the beach and go to the flea market and the racetrack, and if your a church goer attend the morning services at First baptist church in daytona. Awesome church. http://www.firstbaptist.org/ At the flea market go to the Pell Nursery stall and get some of their Pineapple orange juice and grapefruit juice. You'll think you died and gone to heaven. Also head over to Blue springs state park and see the manatees. The spring is a sight in itself without them. The spring is so big divers can go down it over 100 feet I think and its beautiful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Spring_State_Park. In other words don't just go to Disney. There is some pretty cools stuff down there.

The aquarium at Disney is way underfished. Looks promising.
