    Default Adverse Conditions....

....specifically, high water. I fish a corps flood control lake that rarely sees flood conditions. In fact it's been close to 30 years since the water was this high (10' above normal pool). So you guys who often get severe fluctuations....where do you look? I doubt if there is a thermocline yet, but I'm sure the spawn is done. Will they get up into flooded brush/trees/grass? Will they stay on a brushpile that was at 17', but is now at 27'?

I would think it is going to be tough. Most times fish will migrate into new cover because of so much food being introduced by the flooding. They will be in hard to get to places. Some may still go to those deeper brush piles but most will stay in new cover.

Crappie like wood cover. Start shallow and work your way out. They will be in the same type of places. With 10' above normal pool, you have a new lake to fish. Have fun! Post up your success and failures.

I was thinking about pulling a crankbait along next to the original bank because there is a wall of brush next to open water....might snag a few.....Or lose a bunch of crankbaits
