    Default Arkie Crankbaits Question

I just bought $101 worth of Arkies for pulling crankbaits. I have never owned an Arkie before. Thought I would use this based on some posts on this site. When I was taking them out of their packages I noticed it had a fishing tips section wrote on the back of the package. It said "Always tie your line directly to the bait. Do not use a snap swivel". That is a bummer. I was planning on using snap swivels on my line when I am pulling crankbaits so I can easily change out colors. Anyone use snaps with Arkie crankbaits? Does it work OK or should I return all these crankbaits?

I always use snap swivels on all of my crankbaits....The Arkies run good with them....no problem. The Arkie 350's are the best crankbaits that I have used....great color selection too.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Yes, go ahead and use the snap. They do very well with a snap, or tied direct.

A good alternative to the "heavier" snap swivel is to use Norman's Speed Clips which are VERY lightweight and does not add drag or affect the buoyancy and diving depth like the heavier snap swivel does.http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-...aits-question/

I use snap swivels on all my cranks. My buddy does not he ties his direct. No difference in catch ratio, I tie jigs direct he uses a snap swivel same result no diff. Do what is most comfortable and useful for you
